A Redding man is in the hospital this morning after being arrested by police for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Just after midnight Thursday, Redding police responded to a traffic collision at the Chevron Station at 2505 Tarmac Road in Redding.
30-year-old Brandon Ward Foster was driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade when he was traveling southbound on Shasta View Drive.
Foster reportedly went off the east roadway and crashed into a concrete wall west of the Chevron Food Mart.
The Escalade suffered major damage.
Ward was found with drug paraphernalia and arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was released from police custody due to his injuries.
