A Redding man has been arrested after police say he fired several rubber pellets at a group of people he thought were making too much noise, according to the Redding Police Department.

Police were called to the 4400 block of Strathmore Drive near Arizona Street around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a group of people were hanging out at a nearby park when Cheng Saechao came out of his house and told them to quiet down. The exchange turned into an argument, which led to Saechao grabbing a shotgun and firing several rounds at the group.

Police say Saechao had rubber pellet rounds in his shotgun. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
