A Redding man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he allegedly killed a family member at an Redding RV park, then bagged the body and dumped it in the French Gulch Area.

The body of 33-year-old Timothy Arron Mitchell was found in a ditch in the French Gulch area of Shasta County on Sunday night. Investigators located a gunshot wound to Mitchell and determined that he had been dumped in the area after he was murdered.

Authorities launched an in depth investigation and learned Mitchell had been staying with a family member at the Premier RV Resort in Redding since Friday April 24.

Detectives spoke with Ralf Reuschel, 63, and his wife Friday and learned Reuschel and Mitchell had an argument on April 29. Reuschel ultimately shot Mitchell, who died on the scene.

Sergeant Brian Jackson says Reuschel kept Mitchell's body at his residence for several days before moving it to the French Gulch Road area.

A complete autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
