A Redding man pillaged a local pharmacy after allegedly breaking out several of the windows and entering the business, the Redding Police Department reported Tuesday.

Benjamin Canaga, 25, of Redding, was stopped in the area of Owens Pharmacy on the 2800 block of Churn Creek Road. Officers reported that Canaga was uncooperative but was suspected because his clothes matched the ones of the suspect in the robbery.

After further investigation, detectives located more physical evidence linking Canaga to the burglary. Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and items stolen from the pharmacy were found in the vehicle.

Canaga was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail on charges of commercial burglary and resisting arrest.
