Redding man arrested after being spotted in stolen car

A Redding man was arrested early Tuesday morning after an Anderson Police Officer spotted him driving a stolen vehicle.

According to the Anderson Police Department, the officer was returning to Anderson after taking a suspect to the Shasta County Jail when he spotted a Toyota Yaris he recognized as stolen.

The officer stopped the vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot of Circle-K on Highway 273 at Westwood Avenue.

Dennis Carl Chandler, 51, of Redding was found to be driving the vehicle.

Chandler, who is on probation in Shasta County, was booked into the Shasta County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and for driving on a suspended or revoked driver license.
