A Redding liquor store has had its license suspended after an employee reportedly told an undercover ABC agent how to use an air freshener as a crack pipe.
ABC agents posted a 20 day Notice of Suspension today at Gold Street Liquor located at 1459 Gold Street in Redding, saying that "during an undercover operation last year the store was maintaining a stock of items commonly used for ingesting illegal drugs, and that the items were being marketed and sold to customers for that purpose".
Store owner Nikki Sondh told Action News Now the violations occurred when an undercover ABC agent came into the store and asked the now former employee for a crack pipe. The employee gave the agent a car air freshener and told him how it could be transformed into a crack pipe.
During the 20 day suspension the store will remain open on a limited basis and sell a small selection of groceries. The store will also be on probation for the next three years.
