Redding fire crews are investigating a fire which burned a home in Redding Thursday.

Crews report the fire happened around 2 a.m. on the 1500 block of Santa Fe Avenue.

Fire officials told Action News Now that no one was home at the time.

Officials say downed power lines caused an issue for firefighters.

“Downed power lines are presenting some hazards to firefighters so we backed off,” said Redding Fire Chief Gerry Gray. “The feed to the extraordinary hazard for anybody who touches it.”

REU crews were able to disconnect the power and the house was cleared.

The cause of the investigation is still unknown.
