The last of Liberty and Spirit's eggs hatched just before 7 a.m. Friday.
Redding's famous avian couple is now caring for three eaglets, the first hatched Monday, and then the second Tuesday evening.
Three successful hatchings is welcome news for eagle enthusiasts in the North State. In 2013 Liberty lost all of her eggs and her mate Patriot as he fought with another eagle and then last year, her first breeding season with Spirit, the couple lost all three of their eggs.
The bald eagles nest is in a Cottonwood tree on the north side of Highway 44, along the Sacramento River. You can keep up with the young eaglets on the Friends of the Redding Eagles Facebook page.
