A Redding church took a lighthearted and humorous approach to dramaticizing the traditional Easter story.
The Hope Center presented their version of "John, His Story," which re-tells the miracles described in "The Gospel of John."
The play was originally performed Off-Broadway in 1997.
"The resurrection of Christ is the central message to the whole reason why we're even here, and to put that message into a form that might demystify it to people that may think they know about it, is a great mission and a great undertaking," said Ron Giesecke, a performer in the play.
"John, His Story" is usually performed by four actors playing a total of 27 roles, but the Hope Center altered their version to include 13 actors.
