A police chase in Redding ended with the vehicle crashing into a parked car and then an iron and brick fence near the intersection of Henderson Road and Wilshire Drive late Thursday night.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers attempted to stop a 1999 Mercedes Benz as it was traveling southbound on Bechelli Lane. The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Justin Crosby, failed to stop and fled southbound.

Crosby, made a right turn onto Wilshire Drive and when he reached Henderson Road he attempted to make a right turn, but due to his high rate of speed he was unable to make the turn and slammed into a parked car and then a wrought iron and brick fence located near the northwest corner of the intersection.

Crosby was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony evasion, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and resisting.
