The Redding Chamber of Commerce introduced their new President and CEO Wednesday.
Jake Mangas, who currently serves as the Director of Development at Northern Valley Catholic Social Service, will replace retiring CEO Frank Strazzarino, effective in January.
Members are hoping the change in leadership will be just what the struggling chamber needs. At its peak, the Redding Chamber of Commerce had 1100 members, but now stands at just 800.
Mangas tells Action News Now that he has quite the learning curve ahead of him, including how to deal with increases in the city’s crime rate, but he says he is determined to kick off the new job with an open mind.
When he starts January 4, Mangas says he plans to sit down with local business owners in order to get a better understanding of what they need.
