Beer Week in Redding means one thing, 10 days of brews and bites.
"There's 55 events during the week this year. This is just by far the biggest number of community sponsored events," said Brandi Greene, a committee member for the event.
From IPAs to lagers, even seasoned beer enthusiasts can find something new to try.
This year, you can sample from more than 50 breweries, including a handful of hometown operations.
"We have a number of really, really local backyard brewerie,s but we also have this region of wonderful brewers that are creating craft beers, that are getting known all around the world, so we can be proud of all of that," Greene said.
Redding Beer Week was started in 2012 by Catalyst Young Professionals, inspired by similar events elsewhere.
"We had a member who had experienced beer weeks in other cities, come to us and said 'We want this to happen in Redding.' That's the point of Catalyst, we want to create events that we want to attend," Greene said.
C.R. Gibbs, one of this year's participants, is hosting an all-day happy hour to help patrons beat the Monday blues.
C-R GIBBS... ONE OF THIS YEARS PARTICANTS ... IS HOSTING AN ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR TO HELP PATRONS BEAT THE MONDAY BLUES.
"It's a great opportunity to get involved with the community, bring people here that may have never stopped by C.R. Gibbs. We get really excited to do community events and get involved," said Doris Stickney, who works with the restaurant.
And it's not just about the alcohol.
"We really want people to know there's things going on in Redding that are worth attending. There's things going on in Redding that are good and positive, so we're just trying to highlight that," Greene said.
For a full schedule events, you can find a calendar on the Redding Beer Week website.
