One man has been taken into custody after authorities spotted him in a stolen vehicle early Tuesday morning, Redding police said.

Police pursued a stolen 2006 black Audi SD after spotting it traveling on Hilltop Drive around midnight.

The driver, later identified as Marshall Crim, 36, of Redding, fled on foot near Twin View Boulevard and Oasis Road.

Police had to set up a perimeter and search the area for the thief, and Crim was eventually found hiding in a creek. Police said that they used a K9 to catch him.

Rebecca Lyons, 42, of Redding, was a passenger in the stolen vehicle. She was cited for possession of a controlled substance and released.
