A part-time employee at the Best Buy on Hilltop Drive in Redding has been arrested for allegedly stealing a $4,000, 65 inch television from the store.

The store manager noticed the television was missing on June 7, and then reviewed video surveillance and discovered part-time inventory employee Derek Serpa, 28, of Redding could be seen carting the TV out the front door on May 22 when he was supposed to be working as a door greeter.

Redding Police served a warrant at Serpa's Redding home Thursday morning and found the TV along with all of the original packaging.

Serpa was arrested for felony embezzlement and possession of stolen property and booked into the Shasta County Jail. Bail has been set at $10,000.
