A Red Bluff woman will be spending the next six years in prison after being found guilty of felony child abuse. In February of 2015, Sherry Atkinson, 28, called authorities and said she couldn't find her 14-month-old daughter. Police arrived and located the young girl dead under a pile of clothes on the floor. The home was in deplorable conditions and Atkinson's three- year-old and five-year-old sons were removed from the home. Atkinson tested positive for both methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the young girl's death. The coroner's report showed the infant had suffered neglect and died from suffocation from being buried under the pile of clothes.
