A 25-year-old Red Bluff man died Wednesday night and a teen was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a crash outside of Red Bluff.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7:30 p.m. near Red Bluff on Plymire Road when 25-year-old Red Bluff resident Anthony Huerta, driving a 2005 Ford sedan, slowed to make a turn and was struck by a 17-year-old driving a Dodge pickup.

Huerta was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, officials say he died at the scene.

Aubrey Rodriguez, 20, of Red Bluff was a passenger in the Ford and was taken to Mercy Medical Center with a head injury.

Investigators say the teen suffered a few scratches to his arm and face and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital. He also appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
