Red Bluff Police are searching for a suspect involved in an attempted robbery at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Yesterday, around 7:51 pm, officers reported to the 500 block of Adobe Rd when a report of an attempted robbery with gunshot fired.

When officers arrived they were told a 14-year-old black male juvenile along with another black male juvenile, between 14 and 17 years old, confronted the victim while he was smoking a cigarette to the side of the Hampton Inn and Suite.

One juvenile pointed the gun and demanded the 59-year-old's wallet. He was able to distract the teen and grab a hold of the gun. During the struggle the suspect fired the weapon but missed the victim and began to flee the area on foot.

A California Highway Patrol located one of the teenagers, but the other is still on the loose.

The juvenile was booked into the Tehama County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of attempted murder, attempted robbery, discharge of firearm near an inhabited building, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Red Bluff Police Department.
