Red Bluff Police conduct successful DUI enforcement operation

The Red Bluff Police Departments DUI Enforcement Team was out in full force this past weekend. Officers worked Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19.

The DUI team made 48 stops over two days, administering eight field sobriety tests. Four people were arrested for DUI.

In addition to the DUI Enforcement Team, Red Bluff Police patrol officers made four DUI arrests over the weekend.

Red Bluff Police Captain Sanders said “During this two day enforcement period, Red Bluff Police Officers took a ‘Zero Tolerance’ approach to DUI enforcement.

In California, DUI led to 802 deaths in 2012 because someone failed to designate a sober driver.

In addition to the pain and suffering of those immediately affected DUI’s significantly impact the economy. According to the Red Bluff Police Department a fatality has a $1.4 million impact, an injury $70,000, and a crash that only damages property averages $70,000.
