The Red Bluff City Council passed a new urgency ordinance Tuesday night, declaring a "Stage III" water shortage.
Adoption of the ordinance means that beginning June 1, water customers in Red Bluff will be limited to watering their yards to two days a week. Fountains must use recycled water, and residents are prohibited from filling swimming pools and spas.
The city previously adopted "Stage II" water conservation measures, but that declaration expired on April 24.
