NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A husband who appeared on the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" has been sentenced to more than three years in prison on conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges.
Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice must pay $414,000 in restitution in addition to his 41 months behind bars.
He apologized in federal court in Newark Thursday, saying he disgraced many people.
His wife, Teresa, is awaiting her fate.
They walked into the courtroom holding hands before a judge slammed them for not disclosing all of their assets on a presentencing report.
The couple pleaded guilty in March, admitting they hid assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitted phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans.
Each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and three types of bankruptcy fraud. Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty to failing to file a 2004 tax return.
