Friday turned out to be another nice day around northern California, and we'll do it again Saturday. Our next storm arrives early Sunday, and so does the rain!
After a cool start, plenty of sunshine warmed us up nicely again today. We'll squeeze one more nice day out (tomorrow) before changes arrive Saturday night!
A band of moisture extending from the central Pacific into the Pacific Northwest will get pushed southward by cold low pressure soon, bringing us rain by early Sunday morning. It's not a big storm, but we should see 1/4" to 1/2" of rain in the Valley from it. It'll turn to showers pretty quickly Sunday... but that's when the cold air starts pouring in. Snow levels will be near 5000' in the main band of rain, but once the cold air arrives (and it turns to showers), the snow levels will drop to near 3000' by Sunday afternoon. There won't be much moisture left then, however.
Additional moisture will push into the far northern end of the state Monday and Tuesday, but any shower activity should stay pretty close to the Oregon border. We'll dry out Wednesday, and it could get a bit windy Thursday in the Valley.
