Mostly cloudy skies today, but only a few sprinkles in the Valley. A bigger storm will bring both rain and wind later this week!
A weak storm moved through the North State today and brought a few showers to the mountains... Weaverville saw their first snow of the year! First snow in a couple of years, actually, but it was just a little bit. This weak storm has moved east, and skies will turn partly cloudy for Tuesday... and just a bit warmer.
Another weak storm will bring us a few scattered showers on Wednesday, but again... not much.
A bigger storm will arrive Thursday. It has a moderately deep area of low pressure which will come onshore in Oregon, and that should kick up the south winds. Look for 35 to 40 mph gusts in the Valley, with higher gusts in the Sierra Nevada. Right now, it looks like the Valley should see about 1/2" of rain, and models are trying to bring most of that into the North State in the afternoon. It's a bit warmer than our recent storms... snow levels should be near 4500'. We'll fine tune the details as the models come into better agreement tomorrow/Wednesday.
This storm should clear out Thursday night, and Friday and Saturday look partly cloudy and dry.
Another storm should hit us Sunday, and a potentially bigger storm is due in on Monday. These would also be milder than our recent cold storms.
