Wet, and cooler weather is heading into the north state in your Monday forecast. Temperatures are starting out in the mid 40's for the valley, and are expected to climb into the high 40's to low 50's this afternoon. The Northern Mountains are starting out in the high 30's, while the Northern Sierra is starting out in the low 30's. Mountain areas are projected to climb into the high 30's to mid 40's this afternoon. Today's winds will be up to around 10mph out of the North.
Rain will be in store for your valley forecast over the next few days, with a mix of rain, and snow in the mountains. The heaviest precipitation will be ahead from the first of three systems, which is set to ramp up this afternoon through Tuesday morning. Weaker systems will arrive Tuesday afternoon, and another on Wednesday. Snow levels are dropping to around 3000 feet in the Northern Mountains, and down to as low as 3500 feet in the Northern Sierra. About an inch of rain will fall over the next three days in the valley, with up to two and a half inches of rain in the mountains. Mountain areas could also see up to a foot of snow during that time frame.
There will be a break from the wet weather on Thursday, before more wet weather arrives on Friday. Dry conditions will be in store for those last minute shoppers this weekend. I hope everyone stays safe on the wet roads, and has a marvelous Monday!
