Progress made toward containing Northern California wildfires

At least one of the lightning sparked wildfires burning in Northern California is expected to be contained by tomorrow.

Estimated containment time for the Bald Fire in Shasta County is Midnight August 8th.

As of this evening containment stands at 91 percent, with total acreage burned at 39,926..

The Day fire in Modoc County is expected to be fully contained by Saturday. Right now it's 90% contained, at 13,153 acres.

And the destructive Eiler Fire in Shasta County is now 45% contained at 31,722 acres. Full containment there is predicted for August 20th.

Eight homes have burned in that fire. Because of the Bald and Eiler incidents, Shasta County Supervisors this week declared a State of Emergency.
