WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama and his military commanders are meeting today with defense chiefs from more than 20 nations participating in the fight against the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

The daylong meeting comes as the White House says there's been progress in the U.S.-led campaign against the militants.

Also participating in the meeting is Turkey, which the U.S.-led coalition still wants to play a greater role in the fight against Islamic State.
