Power outages, wind damage hits Paradise

High wind gusts have toppled trees and knocked down power lines for the second straight day in Paradise.

Early Monday morning power was knocked out to around 600 PG&E customers in the Paradise area, with a few sporadic outages reported in Magalia. Service has since been restored to a majority of the impacted customers, but as of 2 p.m. there are still approximately 100 customers without power in Paradise.

Paradise Public Works crews say several trees have gone down, including one tree that fell into a home on Edwards Lane, near Ripley Lane in Paradise. Fortunately no injuries have been reported.

On Sunday winds of almost 40 mph knocked down trees and forced the closure of several roads, as PG&E crews were forced to make emergency repairs to power lines on Roe and Nunnely Roads.
