Two boys were stabbed late Saturday night in Red Bluff after they were attacked while sitting in a parked vehicle.

Police responded to a call at the 1700 block of Scottsdale Way. Officers said they found two boys with visible injuries received from a knife attack. One received minor injuries to his hands and lower back and was treated and released. The other boy, who was found outside of the vehicle, received serious injuries to his head, officers said. He was flown to Mercy Hospital and his condition is unknown.

Investigators discovered that several unidentified Hispanic individuals approached the vehicle and broke out the windows with baseball bats. The assailants then began to slash at the victims with knives.

There is no clear motive for the attack, investigators said. Attackers still remain at-large and will face charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and inciting mayhem when apprehended.

The case is under further investigation by the Red Bluff Police Department.
