LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police are asking the public's help to identify a man suspected of burglarizing 11 homes in Studio City in less than five hours earlier this week.

City News Service reports Friday that the burglaries occurred Monday between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on seven different streets between Laurel Canyon and Ventura boulevards.

Los Angeles police say the suspect entered homes by forcing open doors or smashing windows and stole jewelry, watches and computers among other items.

Two residents were home at the time of the crimes and one confronted the thief, who fled in a green Mazda 3S with "CarMax" paper license plates.

Police say the burglar also apparently had an unusual gait that was similar to a limp, which may indicate an injury or birth defect.
