Two males and a female were hospitalized after a stabbing incident early Sunday morning.

Chico Police officers responded to a large fight at an apartment complex on Columbus Avenue. Officers found a female adult who had been stabbed in the face leaving a two-inch laceration on her cheek. The female's boyfriend received several lacerations to his hands, fractured ribs and bruises to his face. The third victim was stabbed twice in the back and fractured his ankle.

Police said there are approximately 10 to 15 suspects who took place in the fight and are currently being sought.

It is unclear if the incident is connected to the fight that happened an hour previously at an apartment complex on Nord Avenue where a woman was hit in the face with a rock during a physical altercation. She refused treatment from first responders and declined to press charges.

Witnesses said a man involved in the fight brandished a weapon and fired shots in the air causing the crowd disperse. Police said the man with the gun fled the scene before police arrived and is still being sought for questioning.

Another unidentified man was arrested for failing to comply with police orders and had to be pepper-sprayed.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Chico Police Department.
