California Highway Patrol officers are searching for a driver who ran a pickup into an Orland home late Monday night.

Just after 11 p.m. officers were called to 46000 block of 6th Avenue, just south County Road 9 in Orland for a report of a vehicle into a house, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a Ford F-350 on its side, resting against the residence.

A preliminary investigation revealed the truck was likely speeding on 6th Avenue causing the driver to miss the County Road 9 stop sign. It appears as though the driver then slammed on the breaks, skidded off the road, became airborne after going over the railroad tracks, slammed into a eucalyptus tree, and collided with the side of a house.

According to police, the driver fled on foot from the scene prior to their arrival.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the CHP.
