Two separate incidents at different Redding bars had police responding within 20 minutes of each other.

The first incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning at Johnny's Cathouse Bar on California Street. There were reports of a fight in progress. When officers arrived they found 28-year-old Deven Sauve unconscious in the middle of the street where he was bleeding profoundly from the head and face. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he is in good condition. He was unable to give a statement to police at the time of the incident and no suspect was taken into custody.
The incident is still under investigation.

The second call came in around 2:20 a.m. where there were reports of a man vandalizing a gay bar and yelling anti-homosexual statements. Police responded to the 501 Night Club on the 1200 block of California Street where they found the suspect only a block away. 33-year-old Christen Allen-Clark was placed under arrest for throwing a rock through the business's front window. Witnesses told officers Allen-Clark was yelling anti-homosexual statements as he vandalized the night club.
He was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for injuries he received while being arrested and then booked into Shasta County Jail.
No one else was injured during the incident.
