Redding Police have arrested a man they say robbed the N. Market Street Dutch Bros. Tuesday night and three other Redding businesses over the last five months.
Police located Matthew Joseph Dial, 29, of Redding, while investigating Tuesday night's robbery and arrested him based on evidence they had obtained in the previous days that Dial committed various other Shasta County robberies.
Investigators connected Dial to a February 18 armed robbery at the Safeway Gas Station at 1070 E. Cypress Avenue based on a secret witness tip.
Based on the secret witness tip investigators interviewed Dial on June 23, and served a search warrant at his residence at the 600 block of N. Market Street in Redding June 24.
Evidence obtained during the interview and subsequent search linked Dial to the Safeway robbery and a March 20 robbery of the Shell gas station located at 1233 Hilltop Dr.
When police found Dial in the area of Dutch Bros. Tuesday night, they arrested him for the previous robberies and he then admitted to committing the Dutch Bros. robbery as well as a Tuesday morning robbery at Lim's Café.
Dial was booked into Shasta County Jail on three counts of armed robbery, as well as commercial burglary.
