A group of Anderson police officers were in the right place at the right time Wednesday morning, allowing them to quell an alleged road rage incident in the parking lot of a local Starbucks.

A group of detectives were meeting outside the Starbucks on Rhonda Road around 7:30 a.m. when a man drove into the parking lot tailgating another vehicle and honking.

Detectives contacted the driver, who was identified as Steven Raymond Miller, Jr., and learned he was angry about being cutoff on Highway 273 a few minutes earlier.

The other driver was shaken from the incident, and while she admitted to making a lane change, she claimed it was safe and legal. Miller told deputies “it just made him mad”.

While writing Miller a citation for his driving, detectives learned he had a felony arrest warrant and they took him into custody.
