Chico police are searching for two men and two females after a botched attempted robbery led to a man being shot early Saturday morning in Chico.

Two men in town for business checked in to the Motel 6 located at the 600 block of Manzanita Avenue in Chico, according to a Chico Police Department news release. The men left the door of their room open slightly while they talked inside. At approximately 1 a.m. two men and two women entered the room armed with firearms and demanded money and property. During the course of the robbery, one of the robbers fired his weapon hitting one of the unnamed victims in the head. The suspects fled the scene empty handed.

Fortunately, the bullet glanced off the victim’s skull, and did not cause serious injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Witnesses describe all the suspects between 20-30 years of age and believed to have fled in an unknown vehicle. The suspects will face attempted murder and robbery charges once apprehended.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Chico Police Department.
