Redding police are investigating a stabbing that happened outside the Redding Inn Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. at the inn on Pine Street.

Officers say they were unable to locate the alleged stabber or a victim when they arrived, and patrols through South City Park failed to yield any leads.

Witnesses at the Redding Inn told Action News Now, a Hispanic male, in his 30’s stabbed a heavy set African-American man during an argument. The victim was tended to by a woman at the scene, before they left together. The alleged stabber fled the area on his bike.

Police say the suspected stabber was wearing a red and black hat, and riding a red 10-speed bike.
