Investigators with the Williams Police Department are checking phone records to find out if a 20-year-old woman was texting and driving when she struck and killed 7-year-old Christian Orosco as he was walking to school Tuesday.
Police say the driver volunteered to give her phone to detectives. On Thursday officers closed the intersection to recreate the scene and all the results of their findings will be sent to the District Attorney's Office.
Williams Police say Christian and his 12-year-old brother were walking to school Thursday morning and as they crossed the intersection of 12th Street and E Street they were both struck by the woman's vehicle.
The driver told police she was blinded by the sun and did not see the boys crossing the street.
