Police investigating Chico shooting, suspect at large

The Chico Police Department is investigating a shooting and searching for a suspect after a man was shot around 9:30 a.m. on the 1100 block of Nord Avenue.

Chico Police Chief Kirk Trostle says the suspect shot his father, who is in his 40’s, in the head outside of a residence at 1110 Nord Ave.

Police are searching for a suspect last seen headed northbound on Nord Ave. Reports say the suspect may have fled in a silver Jeep SUV. Police say the suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous.

According to Lieutenant Ted McKinnon the victim has been transported to Enloe Medical Center, and is currently in surgery.
