Police investigate shots fired in Oroville

The Oroville Police Department is searching for leads after a man reportedly fired at least four shots near the Rancho Vista Apartments late Wednesday night.

According to police, two officers were on patrol on Grand Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when they heard the shots. The officers found four shell casings near the Rancho Vista Apartments, but were unable to locate a suspect.

Witnesses told police they spotted an Asian male driving a newer model silver hatchback in the area, immediately following the shooting.

Police say they have received tips that the suspect may have been firing at a pedestrian near the apartment complex, but the investigation is ongoing.
