LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Long Beach authorities say a man fatally shot by police after jumping out of a second-floor windows and struggling with officers has been identified.
Twenty-year-old Feras Morad of Woodland Hills was shot after officers say they made several unsuccessfully attempts to subdue him.
According to a police statement, an apparently intoxicated Morad jumped out of a window after acting erratically with a group of friends.
Morad landed on the street and began advancing rapidly toward an officer. Police say they used a stun gun and physical force to try and contain him. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Morad was shot after again approaching the officer and saying he would attack him.
Morad died later at an area hospital.
The shooting remains under investigation.
