Authorities are searching for two suspects who they believe beat a 59-year-old Marysville man to death during a marijuana robbery.

The body of Michael McDaniel was found Monday when one his neighbors called the Marysville Police Department to report bags of marijuana in the front yard.

Investigators spent 12 hours at the scene Monday, and the evidence collected has caused them to believe foul play was involved in McDaniel's death, and that it took at least two suspects to carry out the crime.

More than 40 pounds of marijuana was seized from the backyard of the Greely Drive home Monday, causing police to believe McDaniel may have been killed during a drug robbery gone wrong. Additionally, a collection of other valuables were found untouched inside McDaniel's house.

According to police, blood found in the backyard of the home is believed to be McDaniel's and wounds indicate that he suffered severe blunt force trauma to his face and upper body.

At this time, the suspects have not been identified, but anyone with information is asked to contact Marysville Police Department at (530) 749-3900 or anonymously through the department's mobile app.
