Police Have Subway Robber in Custody

Redding police now have the suspect involved in a robbery at a Subway Restaurant behind bars. It happened around noon Sunday. 53-year-old Daniel Torrez used a knife to hold up two female employees and rob the Subway on Eureka Way. After taking off on foot, Torrez was found with the help of a police K9. He has been booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery, displaying a weapon in a threatening manner and resisting arrest. Redding police say he was released as part of AB109 for burglary. Torres also had the added charge of a probation violation placed on his booking, along with assaulting a police K9.
