Willows Police began to retrace their steps in the search for missing Chico woman Angelica Weems Thursday.

Willows Police, along with two divers from the Glenn County Sheriff's Department conducted a search in the canal behind the Glenn County Human Resources Building in Willows. Police say they are going back to square one in the investigation, looking for anything they could've missed.

Despite two dives in the canal, teams did not find anything new.

Weems, 23, was last been seen Saturday September 13, when she and her husband Zir Weems went for a walk in Willows. Zir returned from the walk, but Angelica did not.

On Sunday September 14, Willows Police found Zir Weems with self-inflicted stab wounds near Oak Street and Ventura Street in Willows.

Willows and Chico Police arrested Zir Weems in Chico Wednesday on animal cruelty charges after he was released from a medical care facility. Willows Police would not comment about anything Zir may have said since he was taken into custody.
