The Anderson Police Department say a man allegedly connected to recent burglaries in the Anderson Heights area has been arrested.

Dustin Ryan Retzloff, 34, became the subject of an investigation by the Anderson Police Department after he was arrested for prowling behind an Anderson Heights home on March 25, 2014.

On March 27 a search warrant was served and several items of stolen property were recovered, but no contact was made with Retzloff.

A felony warrant was obtained for Retzloff after the search, charges listed on the warrant included numerous counts of burglary and receiving stolen property, making false statements to pawn items, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and theft with a prior conviction.

Retzloff was arrested for the charges on the warrant April 3 at his encampment.

Yesterday a Warden with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife contacted Anderson Police and said he had contacted Retzloff on March 29 and saw him melting gold jewelry. Retzloff was also arrested then for resisting an officer and possession of a controlled substance.

The Warden provided more stolen property to Anderson Police and as a result additional charges of felony, receiving stolen property will be sought.
