Anderson Police arrested a woman Tuesday night after she allegedly faked an illness to get out of explaining why she was prowling through an Anderson neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of two transients in the area of Driftstone Drive and North Street. The Officer recognized one of the subjects, Sonya Lynn Short, 45, and knew she was providing a fake name.
Short began to dramatically faking an illness when officers told her they knew she was lying about her name.
An ambulance was called and it was determined that she was not ill, and had acted as though she was to avoid getting in trouble.
Short was found to be in possession of syringes filled with methamphetamine and she was transported then booked into Shasta County Jail.
