Scattered light showers, cooler temperatures and increasing South winds are ahead for the north state today. The majority of the showers will track through the region this morning, but light precipitation will be possible throughout the entire day. Temperatures are starting out much warmer than yesterday, with valley areas only dipping into the mid 50's, and mountain areas in the low 40's to low 50's. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the low to mid 60's in the valley, and into the high 40's to high 50's in the mountains. Winds will be out of the South to 10mph, but will increase to around 25mph this afternoon.
More showers will be ahead for Friday, and heavy rain will return to the region on Friday night. Heavy rain, and strong South winds will be ahead for the region on Saturday. There will be potential for heavy rain to cause flooding, and the strong winds to down trees, causing road issues and power outages. Temperatures will then only climb into the mid 50's in the valley on Sunday, and the potential for thunderstorms will arrive in the north state. Valley areas will have the potential for upwards of 3 inches of rain over the next several days, and mountain areas could potentially get upwards of 5 inches of rain as well.
Showers will be possible for the start of next week, and look very likely from the middle to end of next week. I hope everyone enjoys the return of the wet weather in your forecast, and has a great Thursday!
