New cameras have been installed at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico to protect against vandalism and intruders on campus.
Twenty-three motion detecting cameras have been installed and when motion is detected an alert is sent to monitors who can watch the footage or review it later.
The school has had cameras in place, but the new cameras are much clearer than the old ones.
Pleasant Valley has been vandalized three times this year and officials say if these cameras were installed back then, the thief would have been caught much sooner.
