Plane's passenger walks nine miles to get help after hard landing in rural Plumas County

A pilot and passenger have been found safe after their single engine plane went missing in Plumas County this afternoon.

The Plumas County Sheriff's office said the plane took off from Chester this morning for a sight-seeing trip.

When the plane failed to return, they were reported missing.
The pilot made a hard landing in a remote area of Northeast Plumas County near Antelope Lake.

The passenger then walked nine miles to get help.
Both the pilot and passenger were uninjured.

The Plumas County Sheriff's Office is still investigating what happened.
