People around the North State are going to see more Pacific Gas and Electric crews over the next week as they survey 155 miles of gas distribution pipelines with new technology.

PG&E will be using new “gas sensing” technology vehicles that have a sensor mounted on the top, and is a thousand times more powerful than traditional hand-held tools.

The survey began Sunday night and Chico, Red Bluff, Anderson and Redding are among the cities being surveyed this week.
