PG&E is upgrading power lines to improve reliability and increase capacity for customers in south Paradise.
The upgrades begin this week along Buschmann Road between Foster and Clark roads in Paradise and will benefit about 3,500 customers in the area.
During the project, one-way traffic controls will be in effect along Buschmann Road during the work hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Motorists should allow an extra few minutes into their commutes. PG&E notified customers in the area by mail about the work.
“We are confident that the power line upgrades will result in fewer power outages and allow for faster power restoration when an outage does occur,” said Lia White, manager of PGE’s North Valley Division leadership team in a press release.
As part of the $834,000 project crews are also installing additional equipment that, in the event of an outage, will help reduce the number of customers affected, as well as restore power more quickly.
