A pedestrian was taken to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries Monday morning after being struck by a car on Court Street.

Police say 38-year-old Mary Ellen Evans was hit by a car while crossing Court Street, just north of Riverside Drive around 10:55 a.m.

Davis was reportedly walking southbound on Court Street when she crossed the road and walked into oncoming traffic. She was struck by a woman driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado.

Investigators say it appears as though the driver is not at fault in the crash and there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

Evans suffered a broken leg and a head injury, she is currently in stable condition.
